Encounters with Contemporary Visual Art 2023/24

“Architects have the privilege of building new worlds and making our world easier and more beautiful with object-based and visual solutions,” says Bogo Zupančič, architectural historian and curator at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO). He will outline the development of the architect Edvard Ravnikar and his works in a lecture as part of the Encounters with Contemporary Visual Art. This includes his education and collaboration with Professor Jože Plečnik, further training with Le Corbusier in Paris, knowledge of the Bauhaus school and Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm, structuralist tendencies in architecture in the second half of the 20th century, and carving his own path. Of course, there will also be a discussion about the mark the architect left in Nova Gorica.
