Antonio García Jorge (ES)
Spanish saxophonist Antonio García Jorge has been awarded the first prizes on numerous international competitions in France, Spain, Croatia, Italy and Andorra. International success has enabled him to give recitals throughout Europe and Asia. He has given concerts in the most important concert halls of Spain, France, China, South Korea, Croatia and has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras. He participated in the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg (2015) and Zagreb (2018), where he performed as soloist in the opening concert. Being attracted to orchestral music, he regularly performs with symphonic orchestras: “Castilla y León”, “Adda Simfónica”, “Región de Murcia”, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia), the
Orchestre National de Lyon and the Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire (OLC Paris) in many renowned venues. He is interested in the creation of new music and has collaborated with the IRCAM Institute in Paris and with composers such as Joan Magrané, José Manuel López-López, Gilbert Amy, César Camarero, Naoki Sakata, José Luis Escrivà and Luis Naón. After studying under the supervision of Juan Clemente Novo, Vincent David and Claude Delangel at the CNSM in Paris, Antonio continued his studies at the DAI – Contemporary Music and Creativity course with prof. Hae-Sun Kang. In parallel, he pursued his Master’s degree in chamber music in Prof. David Walter‘s class with the Yendo saxophone quartet, with whom he performs all over the world. He has recorded three albums: ‘Musique Espagnole pour Saxophone’ and ‘La Follia Nuova’ with French pianist Alexis Gournel and ‘Utópico’ with the Yendo quartet. Antonio currently teaches saxophone at the ‘Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Massotti Littel’ in Murcia and is an ambassador for prestigious Henri Selmer Paris and Vandoren Paris brands.
