After eight years, the Chamber Orchestra Zagreb Soloists is returning to the big stage of the Nova Gorica Arts Centre. Since its foundation in 1953, when it started working under the leadership of the famous cellist Antonio Janigra, the renowned Croatian ensemble has been operating successfully, thanks to the outstanding musicians in it. What binds them together is a compelling musical discipline, skill, unceasing enthusiasm and love for chamber music. They built their international reputation with concerts at the world’s most prestigious concert venues and festivals from Vienna to London, Moscow to Berlin, Switzerland, Italy, New York, Sydney and Buenos Aires. Among the laurels they have received are national and international awards from various countries and medals awarded to them with distinctions and honours by the Republic of Croatia. Since 2012, the ensemble’s concertmaster has been the violinist Sreten Krstić, also the Munich Philharmonic concertmaster.

The Zagreb soloists, who are celebrating their 70th anniversary in 2023, will join with Vivaldi’s opera arias mezzo-soprano Nuška Drašček, winner of numerous domestic and foreign competitions, one of the most prominent Slovenian singers, who impresses the audience with her voice, stage presence and extensive repertoire, which ranges from opera, lieder, vocal-instrumental works to chanson, jazz, Slovenian folk song, pop, gospel and musicals.
