KAROL SZYMANOWSKI QUARTET
KEVIN SPAGNOLO, clarinet

The Karol Szymanowski Quartet brings together violinists Agata Szymczewska, Robert Kowalski, violist Volodia Mykytko and cellist Karol Marianowski. The quartet was founded in 1995 in Warsaw and has developed into one of the most outstanding international string quartets of its generation. The musicians present demanding programs in a perfect balance between intellect and passion, which has captivated audiences at festivals and in concert halls throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia and has brought them numerous awards and recognitions at major international competitions. In 2007, the Polish government awarded them a medal of honour for their contribution to appreciating Polish culture.

Kevin Spagnolo, a clarinettist considered one of the most promising young musicians, will join them on the Nova Gorica stage. He drew the attention of the musical public to himself with a whole series of victories at international competitions, especially in 2018, when at the tender age of twenty-two, he won the prestigious competition in Geneva, which made him the youngest clarinettist among the winners in the history of the competition.

The concert was created in cooperation with the Maribor National Hall.
