Concert Season Subscription 2022/23 – 42nd Concert Season/8th Concert




The traditional evening of piano music will be marked by the Sicilian master of black and white keys Giuseppe Guarrera. Amongst others he studied under the renowned professor Siavush Gadjiev in neighbouring Gorizia, and continued to develop his virtuosity in master classes under Daniel Barenboim, Ferenc Rados, Mikhail Voskresensky, Sergei Babayan, Richard Goode and Michel Beroff. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, amongst others he received the second-place award at the international competition in Montreal in 2017 together with five other awards, including the audience award. The following year he received the special award of the Tabor foundation at the Verbier Festival Academy and the scholarship of the Ruhr Piano Festival in Germany. The pianist who is praised by the expert public for his sensitive and clear playing, has played on numerous prestigious European concert stages and performed as a soloist with some of the most important international orchestras. He regularly cooperates with the Boulez Ensemble from Berlin, with which he, under the leadership of Daniel Barenboim, opened the 2017 season in the Boulez Hall with the world’s first performance of Benjamin Attahir’s concert. He is also active as a chamber musician. He currently lives in Berlin, where he is a professor at the prestigious Barenboim-Said Academy, from which he also graduated.
