Classical Saxophone Materclass

In light of the 10th anniversary of the International Saxophone Competition, this year’s SAXGO25 Summer School will take place in a slightly modified format. The master class will be held as a series of public lessons, intended for both active and passive participants. Active participants will have the opportunity for 45-minute individual public lessons with renowned mentors. The emphasis will be on a holistic approach to the study and preparation of selected compositions – whether for competitions, concerts, auditions or other occasions. The course is open to both soloists and chamber groups. The number of places for active participants is limited to 16, and the order of applications will apply.
Mentors
The masterclass will be led by internationally renowned teachers and concert artists:
- Claude Delangle (France) – SPECIAL NOTICE: all places have been filled, it is no longer possible to apply with Prof. Delangle!
- Zagreb Saxophone Quartet (Croatia/Slovenia): Dragan Sremec, Goran Merčep, Saša Nestorović and Matjaž Drevenšek
Masterclass program
- public lessons by internationally renowned teachers,
- in-depth study of selected compositions and technical aspects of interpretation,
- repertoire analysis and preparation – from stylistic interpretation to stage performance,
- attendance at concerts within the SAXGO25 festival.
Registration fee
Active participation includes:
- 45-minute individual public lesson with Prof. Claude Delangle or members of the Zagreb Saxophone Quartet,
- certificate of participation.
Passive participation includes:
- passive attendance at the master class,
- certificate of participation, which can be used for advancement to a title: certificates of participation at the seminar can be used to earn points at the MIZŠ when advancing to titles; 0.5 points for 8 school hours, 1 point for 16 school hours.
The master class is intended for
The master class is intended for soloists and chamber groups who want to improve their interpretation and technical execution of the selected repertoire. Passive participants will have the opportunity to follow the lessons of renowned mentors and gain insight into their pedagogical approaches.
Age limit
Active participation is suitable for upper-grade students of lower music schools, high school students and students.

Each candidate or chamber group may apply for only one lesson (Prof. Claude Delangle or Zagreb Saxophone Quartet).
Active participation with Prof. Delangle:

SPECIAL NOTICE: On 10 April 2025 there are only 5 places left for active participation in the Zagreb Saxophone Quartet. The available places for active participation in the class with prof. Delangle have been filled.
Active participation with members of the Zagreb Saxophone Quartet:
€100 – for soloists
€25 – for individual members of the chamber group
Passive participation:
FREE – pupils, students
€100 – teachers (two-day participation)
€50 – teachers (one-day participation)
