In the year of the International Saxophone Competition, the SAXGO festival traditionally ends with a concert of the finalists of the competition. But this year, before the concert of the finalists, we’ll listen to the International Youth Saxophone Orchestra ALPSAXsummer 2022 performing on the Silvan Furlan Square. The orchestra, guided by the artistic director Lev Pupis, will be conducted by the Dutch conductor Johan van der Linden.

The youth orchestra will present itself to the audience of Nova Gorica with a program that will be carefully prepared especially for the SAXGO22 festival at the Summer School of Saxophone in Kranjska Gora. The 20-member ensemble consists of music students from Austria, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.

Timothy Roberts and Mariano Garcia, mentors of the summer school in Kranjska Gora and internationally renowned saxophonists and pedagogues, will perform as soloists.
