The piano trio composed of Janez Podlesek, Karmen Pečar Koritnik and Aleksandar Serdar emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic. It held its first highly noticed ‘streaming’ concert in March 2021 from the Union Hall Maribor. The ensemble is comprised of three exceptional artists, who complement each other exceptionally well and all of whom are very well known to us. The renown violinist Janez Podlesk, who has performed at numerous recitals and chamber music concerts, is known as a long-standing concert master of the Slovenian Philharmonic String Orchestra. At the height of his creative powers, he predominantly works as a violin teacher and chamber musician. With her meteoritic rise to fame Karmen Pečar Koritnik achieved everything a soloist can desire very early on in her career. She is currently focusing on limited concerts and transferring her enthusiasm for cello to the young and the broader audience as a teacher and through her work at the Cellofest Festival in Ljubljana, whose artistic director she is. The paths of the two Slovenian musicians intertwined with the respectable Serbian pianist Aleksander Serdar, who, alongside his diverse international soloist career, found his new professional focus in Slovenia.

Their diversities artistically complement each other and this is precisely what we can expect from three different temperaments, who will join forces in their joint understanding and desire to share music. The trio will tune their enthusiastic dedication for playing honest and passionate music with a selection of representative masterpieces for a piano trio, expressively strong music, which promises an intense concert experience and new revelations for the listeners in Gorica.
