IL POMO D'ORO ENSEMBLE
Natalie Clein, cello
Natalie Clein is known as one of the most impressive British musicians. At the age of sixteen, she was launched into musical orbit after winning the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians and the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. A Gramophone Magazine review of one of her recordings says that »she produces an astonishing range of colours and evokes the widest variety of expressive styles«. Besides her intense performing onstage and on tour, she is also part of the professorial staff at the Royal College of Music and displays her broad and enthusiastic artistic spirit as the curator of the BBC concerts.
In Nova Gorica, she will play alongside Il Pomo d'oro ensemble. The baroque orchestra was founded in 2012 and has quickly gained reputation on the international music scene. The musicians form an ensemble of outstanding quality that combines stylistic knowledge, highest technical skills and command of period instruments. Their chief conductor is Maxim Emelyanychev, a young harpsichordist of Russian origins. Il Pomo d'oro regularly performs on the most prestigious stages across Europe and the US; moreover, they have recorded a series of CDs.
