Helena Fojkar Zupančič, choirmaster
There are 50 singers from Litija and central Slovenia singing in the choir. In fifteen years, the choir grew into a weathered group of singers that managed to gain renown in Slovenia and abroad by singing at mass in their parochial church and giving concerts around Europe. The choir is known for their harmonious sound and their staggering interpretations of pieces from a range of different periods. They take top places at national and international competitions and have already won a series of special prizes. Their latest achievement was the absolute first place and a special award for the execution of the compulsory piece in 2013 at the International Choir Competition in Maasmechelen, Belgium. They boast a vast cooperation with many renowned artists and orchestras. Many famous Slovenian composers have written pieces for the choir, which published three records. The choir is headed with the assistance of répétiteurs, by a charismatic leader, Helena Fojkar Zupančič, winner of many international awards, who devotes particular attention to shaping a pristine, homogenous and pleasant sonance, accompanied by stunning stage performances.
